Cool waters

Came across this river while doing jungle trekking in the jungle of Mersing in Johore. The water was very cool and refreshing, especially at this upper reaches. Further downstream, the Fisheries Department was breeding our special 'kelah' fish. There were four species of kelah being successfully bred here. These fresh water fish were very well protected now since it is becoming very rare and close to extinction. It is a priced commodity since the fish is considered to be the best delicacies in the country. We have the 'empurau fish' in Sarawak which is cousin to this kelah.
