Langkawi Island

Langkawi Island is one of the most beautiful islands resort in the world. I have been to this island several times and needless to say every new visit it became more and more captivating. Naturally, my best visits were the ones with my family because we have all the time we had and enjoyed the holidays together.

Langkawi is accessible by air and also by sea. Normally I drove all the way up to Kuala Perlis, parked my car there and took a ferry across to Kuah. It took about an hour by boat, then at Kuah harbour we rent a car and thats it. There are many cheap and reasonable hotels in Langkawi too. The main island is small enough to cover by car within a few hours only.



Langkawi is still a free trade zone and most of the things sold are not taxed, therefore it is a haven for shoppers there. However, we normally prefered to do sightseeing only and enjoyed ourselves just be together. Since it is an island, the beaches are so beautiful with beautiful sand and very clear water. We used to have picnics by the seaside everytime we visited Langkawi.

Kota Tinggi Beach

Kota Tinggi is famous for its beaches, especially around the Cherating area. I was here with my family quite recently. We stayed in this cozy resort just by the sea side in Tanjung Balau. Our two nights stay were some of the few fond memories we had together as a family. The occasion was made more interesting with the presence of my only grandson who was then approaching a year old. He enjoyed the outing as much as we did.

The sea was a bit rough then, but we spent the short holidays amongst ourselves with picnics, sightseeing and also singging karaoke in the resort. Cherating is a holiday haven for families and also for tourist who loves the sea side. The sceneries were so enchanting that made us remember the place as part of our most valuable memories.
